(Hosting-NewsWire.com, October 17, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- YouTube has extended their Ad-Skip function that they have extended the model to the iPhones. The new app has a channel guide and allows for easier sharing of media through the mobile devices.
Simply by making a quick expansion, Apple given a nod to the concept that mobile media is as important as standard sharing over home units.
More than 25% of YouTube users access the site on their cell phones or ipads/tablets. That number comes out to a million mobile users a day. One in three people in Australia utilize a mobile device when viewing YouTube videos.
The most impactful feature is the TrueView advertising model, which allows one to skip the ads after a few seconds. This can exist as YouTube only charges sponsors who have ads following the video, and not those that have ads before the video.
The Head of YouTube Asia-Pacific, Adam Smith, stated that since 2010, 60% of pre-video ads were now skippable. ”If users don’t find an ad compelling, they can skip it. Advertisers only pay when someone watches their ad and overall there are less people dropping out.”
