Free basic services through Facebook's Internet.org app will be available to Airtel customers in Kenya later this week.

Airtel Kenya subscribers will have access to a suite of free services offered through Facebook's Internet.org app later this week, including weather, health, education, finance, jobs, communication, and local information. As a key content partner, AccuWeather will provide global weather forecasts and warnings with Superior Accuracy™ to benefit this audience.

Facebook's Internet.org app offers a wide array of AccuWeather information including the 3-day, weekend, 45-day, and hourly forecasts as well as health and travel forecasts. The free app also includes radar where available, satellite maps, weather news, and hurricane and tropical storm information.
Internet.org's goal is to make affordable Internet access available to the two-thirds of the world who are not yet connected, bringing the same opportunities that the connected world has today to everyone. Facebook's Internet.org app launched on July 31, 2014. Initially available to Airtel customers in Zambia, the app is also available to Tigo customers in Tanzania and will be available to Airtel subscribers in Kenya later this week.
Airtel Kenya subscribers can access the Internet.org app through the Google Play Store or by visiting www.internet.org on a mobile browser. The service works on smartphones and feature phones.
