(Hosting-NewsWire.com, July 01, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- Video messaging on Skype is now out beta testing and is a full-featured service, an attempt from Microsoft to compete with other smartphone and mobile device apps that allow video messaging, such as Vine, Instagram and Snapchat.
Skype added the new video messaging feature to Windows, Apple products such as the iPad, iPhone, Android and Blackberry. Users can create a video message, like a regular texting message, for a contact to be viewed later instead of requiring real time communications. In a nutshell, the feature is a video voicemail.
The video messaging feature was previously available in a beta version with limited features, but the fully-functional feature is now available to all users with a simple update of the Skype program.
The great thing about the new Skype feature is that it allows video messaging even when the other party isn't available. This scratches an itch for tech geeks that allows them to record their thoughts and show other people things they may need while the other person is away.
