(Hosting-NewsWire.com, February 11, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- The recent years have seen a pointed turn toward the mobile optimization amongst the top 100 brands, according to a new study. The increase has reached 54% of previous years' totals.
The research from the Internet Advertising Bureau found that a 54% increase in the number of brands during the last six months has been seen, which marks a rise from 37%.
As part of the study, Google's Get Mobile Meter tools was utilized to review the Top 100 advertisers websites over a myriad of sectors that included retail, finance, automotive, and FMCG.
The FMCG sector saw the most marked increase, with 267% increase in mobile marketing, while the media and tech sectors, as well as techcons, jumped by 150% respectively.
The FMCG sector had the greatest degree of mobile optimization, with 79% of the 14 sites listed being optimized, while the auto sector fell into second place with 73% of the 26 sites that saw optimization.
The IAB senior mobile manager, Alex Kozloff, stated: "Our research shows that the industry is moving in the right direction, however with over 40% of the top 100 brands still not optimised there is still more to do to encourage brands to integrate mobile into their wider strategies.
"It is encouraging to see that the effort the IAB, our mobile council and the wider industry has put into this area is starting to pay off and we will continue to work with our members to help companies make mobile mandatory in 2013."
The finding have followed a recent IAB study that showed 69% of UK consumers expect their usage for mobile devices to dramatically rise by 2015. This expectation highlights the increase of importance and effectiveness of mobile strategy that is being seen and understood by all to be a portion of the future in all business sectors.
