(Hosting-NewsWire.com, November 15, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- The media is currently saturated with dueling analysts, pundits, and media channels attempting to effectively parse and present the issues and voting data to U.S. voters as the next president of the United States should be elected in less than two weeks time.
However, nothing beats the Internet when it comes to crunching data. Microsoft just launched an elections superhub on Bing in efforts to shift in the way voters consume information.
Named Bing Elections 2012, the site offers a rich collection of trending stories related to the candidates, popular searches referencing key elections topics, polling information, as well as an interactive map of the country, which offers insight into which direction various states are leaning (Republican or Democrat).
In addition, the site also offers extras including Balance of Power infographic, which tracks the Senate and House of Representatives races and contextualized data, as well as an exclusive "get out the vote" video made by Chelsea Clinton, former President Bill Clinton's daughter.
MaryAnne Huntsman, former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman's daughter, is also directing viewers to use the various features of the new Bing Elections hub.
To drive engagement, Bing will also harness the power of social media. "Bing is also the only search engine with strategic partnerships with Twitter and Facebook to deliver unique social sentiment analysis across key election issues," Mike Nichols, Bing vice president, said.
Microsoft has also partnered with established political media brands such as Politico, The Huffington Post, Associated Press, Real Clear Politics, and The Cook Political Report in order to lend a little analytical flair to the site.
Microsoft has aggressively touted the power of its search engine versus Google over the past few months, and went as far as inviting users to test the search engines next to each other to prove the quality of Bing search results over the current search leader. Google launched its own elections hub earlier in 2012.
A recent figure from the Pew Research Center said that nearly 10% of 2012 presidential campaign donations were made from text or mobile apps.
