(Hosting-NewsWire.com, September 23, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- Three burglaries might be connected, police believe, as a gang seems to be working its way through Texas by attacking the homes of women living alone.
One of their victims is Annette Bledsoe, a sixty-one year old woman living alone, whose home was the scene of an unsuccessful burglary attempt.
She says, “I thought someone had shot my window out,” upon hearing the sound of glass shattering. After calling 911, she went back to her bedroom, put on a robe, and was about to carry on with her day when she saw a member of the gang standing outside her patio door, preparing to enter.
“He started to reach in to open the door,” Bledsoe recalls, but she was quicker than him as she screamed in terror and ran out of the house, where she encountered members of the gang. Outside, she stumbled on her way to a neighbor’s home to call for help and to be safe.
As she did so, the members of the gang all got into a Buick and drove off, empty handed. However, they were busy earlier in the day.
At 2:40 am, about 1 ½ miles from Bledsoe’s home in North Fulton, a homeowner reports to Brian
Goetschius an encounter with a burglar. Goetschius, who is a Texas City Police captain, explains that the woman saw a burglar going through her wallet. Her window was open because the electricity was not working in her home.
Later on, the gang stops at Pat Jones’ home. Jones was out of town and thus did not encounter the burglars at all; however, she notes that her home is emptied by the gang as they took jewelry, prescription medications, three pistols, and
“They didn’t take the computers or the TVs, just the stuff they could haul out of here,” Jones reflects.
“They took my throw that was on my couch that I use to cover up when I am watching TV. I guess they put everything in that and took it out.”
Bledsoe’s security camera records what the burglars did, unlike Jones and the other woman, she has a clearer and more concrete description of the gang; however, no arrests have been made yet but Goetschius explained that the police is looking further into a connection between the burglaries.
