(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 11, 2012 ) Wellington, NZ -- With the pace of life often leaving a long to-do list in its wake, a helping hand is never unwelcome. With this in mind, MapofNeeds.com comes to the rescue to help people around the world wipe their lists clean. After months of diligent preparation, the site is proud to officially announce its launch.
Designed by New Zealand-based TechcoNZ Limited, Map of Needs has one simple purpose – to connect people who need something done in a specific location.
“We wanted people to be able to connect with others who have the time, resources and skills to complete jobs that need doing” says Brendan Lester, Director of TechoNZ Limited.
He continues, “The platform we have developed allows the safe introduction of requestors and workers, an honest and solid feedback system and super low fees.”
While finding the right person for a job is often no easy task, Map of Needs appears to have built a system that simplifies the process.
The person looking to hire (requestor) can list the job on MapofNeeds.com for free, from anywhere in the world. Potential workers are then able to see the job and apply with a quote. The requestor is then free to hire any one of the workers, upon which a low flat-rate referral fee is paid. As well as posting from anywhere in the world, Map of Needs boasts a global reach – allowing jobs for anywhere in the world to be listed, too.
This fee buys access to the worker’s email address, allowing the requestor to make direct contact and arrange for the job to be completed.
Following a job well done, both parties are encouraged to return to the website and post honest feedback about their experience.
“Our main aim was to create a secure, honest and trusting environment where people can solve their problems. With its global reach and no-limit usage, we believe the site will become a saving grace to people everywhere” Lester adds.
“There are no rules pertaining to potential jobs, as long as they are legal. We have had everything from people looking to get their weekly shopping completed, their kid’s birthday party organized, their lawns mowed and even one person who needed someone to hold the video camera at their Daughter’s wedding!”
While the site doesn’t broker the transfer of payment, instead choosing to focus on keeping their referral fee as low as possible, they do provide some useful resources. Map of Needs links to numerous online payment companies, allowing requestors to choose the service that best fits their needs.
Part of the site’s initial requirements was an easy to use, yet fun interface. Therefore, it takes just minutes to post a job, with some of the most interesting being featured on the site’s dynamic homepage. Coupled with a world map to demonstrate the locale of current jobs, a quick look at the site gives a detailed overview of real-time global needs.
As Lester makes clear, the site’s initial response has been extremely positive.
“People seem relieved that there is finally a useful service on hand to help them solve their everyday problems. We’ll continue to develop and improve our offering, in the hope that we can make the world a little less stressful for everyone” he concludes.
